  • Sunlight simulation

I try to do an animation about a sunlight simulation of an appartment on a whole day and wonder how to avoid to long render times. (don't really won't to do it with direct comp.)

Don't know what to do, but all test i did flicker to much...
'Incremantle Add' don't work at all, mabe someone tried to do this with PhotonMap?

    any idea?

    Hi Robert

I think You´ve decied to do the hardest job available for renderers. We tried something like this also before, done with max radiosity.

It is nearly impossible right now to do it with smal rendertimes. each secound light in the whole scene changes evrywhere a little bit. So the only way to avoid flickering still is very high settings either in i-map with photons, in I-map and also in direct comp.

maybe photonmapping will speed up your scene two ore three times also with direct computation. but you still will get long rendertimes for good results.

With max radiosity, we used aftereffects and a lot of filter algorithms to stretch the rendering which still isn´t satisfieing. (i hate to fake ).

But if you find a way, not using ilm´s renderfarm, you can tell us.

    Greetings

    Tom

Nice to read that other are fighting on this too.

I'll keep trying, because it's what many clients want to see.
