  • Memory and render size relation?

    Hello,
I have a scene that can't be render to more than 2400*1800 due to "not enough memory".
Such memory error occur before the pass start to proceed, so it is the geometry that create the problems.
Turning off the buffer and rendering to file did not solve the problem.
    No displacement are used.

What is the relation between geometry and render size and the impact on the Ram?
To be able to render such frame with a bigger size, what should be done?

    Thanks

If geometry is the problem u can try using proxies.

      thanks,
75% of this scene is turned into proxy.
There should be a corrupt geometry somewhere to put a mess like this in the Ram.

Have you got any geometries in the scene which are subdivided during render-time?
Have you got any dynamic geometries in your scene like hair, fur, particles and etc?
Try to not use Adaptive Subdivision Image Sampler since it occupies more RAM.
What type of GI is used? Have you tried to render without any GI?
Can you show us how the scene looks like?

Can you show me a screenshot of the error? Also, is this for the 3ds Max VFB or the V-Ray one?

          Best regards,
