  • vraydistancetex for road markings

I am using VRAY 3 with Max 2014. In our road animations we are using the vraydistancetex to render road markings, however we are finding it is very slow to load the objects in the material. I have tried merging all the road lines into one mesh object (about 45,000 faces) and the vraydistancetex material takes quite a long time to load. Is there a preferred method for using this material for rendering road markings? Does separating the mesh into smaller pieces make it load faster?

    Thanks
    Ace

You mean loading it into the material editor? Or something else?

yes, loading into the material editor, the spot where you choose which objects.

      Thanks for the quick response,

We need to optimize that; for the moment I don't think there's any way to make it faster unfortunately. I'll make a note to look into it as soon as possible.
