Might sound like a silly question, but how do I go about 1) Finding if my CPU can use it, and 2) if it can how can I "get" it?

The Embree library requires a compatible processor with support for SSE4.2; attempting to use it on a processor that does not support SSE4.2 may result in undefined behavior.

You can turn it on on the system tab.

    Cheers,

Ahh excellent. I'm on an E1650 which supports SSE 4.2, so I shall enable it henceforth!

Yes you should enable it - the render times in most of the scenes will be reduced.
