  • Vray 3 progressive sampler and DR

Is this possible or am I only able to use Backburner for this method ? I set up DR on one render node but nothing happens. It says server mode 0 in the vray message dialogue. Not sure if this is relevant.

Works fine for me... does DR work with any of the other samplers?

    Best regards,

I'll double check that. Cheers for the quick response.

DR is working fine for adaptive. I'll double check progressive. It is actually working I think now but it keeps spiking the performance on the node rather than at 99% like the main workstation. I'll try altering the ray bundle size. Thanks

I increased to 256 and it seems a little better. Is there a value you would recommend for this ?

Very scene dependent - I got best results with 2048.

A utility like Refamo that graphs the CPU usage of your slaves is super useful for seeing what settings saturate the farm best.

You'll have to play with that to find good values. I found that increasing the min. shading rate works well too, as it gives V-Ray more work per pixel. We should be able to improve that in the next builds.
