I don’t know how many have seen this, but this is a continuing project from Panzar and Ariorh. They have some very high poly character models and all rendered using v-ray. So to all those who believe v-ray is only good for buildings, prepare to drool. Click link for many more pictures.

          Hi

That´s nice there are lot of guy´s that realy think, vray is something for architecture and not more

modelling looks fantastic on that site, but why the hell allways monsters and brutal guy´s

Why dont we pose all our small testimages of organic modelling here in the veray forum.

I know most of us make architectural renderings. but lot´s are dreaming of ilm and pixar.

          so post it.

          Tom

sorry but what has modelling to do with the renderer?
you can do such simple lighting setup with any renderer.

the credits go to the modeller nothing to drool over the renderer here.

i don´t want to sound like an ass but i really don´t see the connection.

Everything! What good is a renderer if it has nothing to render? I mean, you can't just put lights in and no model. That would just be plain silly.

you can do such simple lighting setup with any renderer.
But will it look as good? Or more importantly, will any other renderer do it as fast as Vray?

the credits go to the modeller
And if the modeler did the lighting and render (which he/she most likely did), then I totally agree with you!

i don´t want to sound like an ass but i really don´t see the connection.
Well, I thought you did. But then, that was your perogative now, wasn't it? Just as it was mine to point it out, hehe.

honest you should READ and at least TRY to understand my posting.

you really think buying vray makes you a better modeler?
ok, then i have a few enron stocks to sell, interested?

the above example image and all example images on their website can be rendered with vray, brazil, fR, lighttracer, insight etc. pp. without any problem. i don´t think you believe that only vray is able to do GI lighting?!

there is nothing special. the models are the exeptional part. the rendering is simple, not worth to mention and nothing to drool about.

saying that the images are amazing because they are using VRAY is nonsense. they are amazing because of the models. period.

maybe you thought you can model like this easily when you buy vray, but im sure you have already noticed you where wrong and vray does not help you modeling.

it could be a example for vray´s power when they had used displacement on their models but they have not.

so this is not a example for vrays power, instead it´s an example for their modeling skills (whatever you believe is up to you).

I did understand your posting. I thought it could have used a bit more tact, that's all. Maybe I was wrong, who knows. For what it's worth, I think my reply was about level with yours in that regard, hehe. You'll have to forgive me though since I don't know any better. I see a beehive, I see a long stick. You do the math. Now I will return to simply drooling...

PS: Your right, Vray can't make you a better modeler. But it can make you look like a better modeler than you really are lol.

Looks like that might have possibly gone over a few heads there. Anyways, what I was trying to say with my PS was that Vray can really bring out the details in a mesh. You know, with good lighting it can give it that little extra bit of finish that makes it really shine. Let's see, what can I compare this too so people won't get easily confused... how about, umm... it's kind of like taking a really great photograph and having it printed at Walmart vs getting it done professionally by someone who knows what they are doing. One can make even the greatest photo ever taken look very bad, and the other can make it look really fantastic. Did that help at all? I'm kind of tired, hope that made sense. Been looking after my wife who just had surgery yesterday, and haven't been getting enough sleep lately which probably shows...

The only reason i brought this up, is the fact that another company is using it. They could be using brazil, mental ray, or none of them Just by glancing at the images you cant tell its v-ray. Buts its nice to see someone else using it in a production environment.

Also, i mentioned this and posted it because unlike brazil in general, we are now seeing more and more people turning to it for characters.
