  • Rendering Houdini volumes in Vray for 3Dmax

    Hey!

I noticed there is the VRayVolumeGrid for Maya, which renders OpenVDB, which Houdini can export too. Is there anything similar for Max? I was even thinking of exporting it from Houdini in a format that Fume FX can handle.

    Any thoughts?

There is a support for OpenVDB *.vdb and Field3D *.f3d cache files in our Phoenix plugin. I assume that they can be loaded even with the Demo build.

Yes, the Phoenix demo should work fine. The guys are also working on speeding up the volume rendering...

      Best regards,
