Alpha Channel Question

Is there a way to save EXR's without embedding an alpha? It is just extra data that I don't need for these files, and if I can save file size by not writing it, I will do so. I don't feel like batching them, but if I can do it by changing a setting in max, I will.

Did it by setting the EXR parameter in setup to RGB instead of RGBA, however it only saved a few hundred Kb. on a 12 MB exr.

Might as well just leave it on.

Yeah the exr compression routines are pretty good, it's channels where the data is different on every pixel such as grainy render elements, word position passes and so on that get large, alpha channels can have large block areas of white and black compressed down a lot so it's not a significant saving.
