Hello everyone!
I found it very difficult to find test results for view port performance numbers in 3dsmax (2014) so I made my own.
I purchase an AMD r9 290x 4gb, Nvidia 780 3gb and a Nvidia K5000 4gb Quadro.
City01-V1d.max bench mark scene
time to playback animation (lower is better):
dx11 nitrous:
290x: 00:20s
k5000: 00:15s
780: 00:18s
dx9 legacy:
290x: 00:52s
k5000: 00:42s
780: 00:48s
My own heavy duty test scene, with animated characters:
dx11 nitrous:
290x: 09m:00s
k5000: 10:00s
780: 08:00s
dx9 legacy:
290x: 05:02s
k5000: 04:26s
780: 04:58s
vray RT standard bench marks scene from these forums:
290x: 01m:59s
k5000: ~14m
780: crashes for me, but you can see the numbers on the official forms for benchmarking RT, it is slightly slower than the 290x at 02m:05s
All this is on 3dsmax 2014 will service pack 5... an i7 3930k 6 core clocked at 4.1ghz with 32gb ram and win7 pro x64 with all the latest patches.
