All of the sudden I have a problem with one node on my DR network. It seems to arbitrarily miss certain bitmaps and render others correctly. I use Vray advanced version 1.09.03m. All bitmaps use UNC and the node has always functioned before. Has anyone ran into this before?

Fixed it
I fixed it by selecting all of the objects, lights, and cameras in the scene and saving as selected. I then merged the saved file into a new file. This always seems fix these strange problems. But it would be interesting to learn what causes them. I often start a project using an existing project as a starting point. I suspect that as I continually do this my files gradually develop problems. I have had strange artifacts and crashing files that I was able to repair using this same process.

If you turn on the Check for missing files checkbox in VRay's system rollout, you can look at the vraylog.txt file to see if any bitmaps were not found. Sometimes maps may fail to load because of insufficient memory, or excessive network traffic (when all slaves start downloading the maps).

Thank you for your reply Vlado. I did what you suggested and found no missing maps. The node does the same thing when all other nodes are removed from the manager. This is a small scene 3490 kb. the largest bitmap is 672 kb. The node renders the scene correctly when not using DR but drops two maps when running DR. All maps use UNC and the node has always worked before.
I tried an experiment. One thing that both problem objects have in common is that they are grouped objects merged into the file. I ungrouped them and the scene renders correctly. When I re-group them the problem starts again and other bitmaps start to disappear as well. I’ve noticed any time I group or ungroup objects it can trigger this problem. Strange that this only affects one node.
