  • Berconnoise crashes MAX when using variance.

I have a problem that MAX crashes everytime I tried to edit one of the variance parameters in the mapping rollout. Only the 2015 version doesn't have it, but I still use 2014, I tried it with 2015 and it doesn't crash. If I edit the material in 2015 and then use it in 2014 it isn't a problem until I try to edit something in the material then it crashes again. It's driving me insane.

It's more or less what this guy has (if not the same): https://corona-renderer.com/forum/in...p?topic=3702.0

    HELP!

Maybe this has something to do with the crashes vlado fixed in the 2015 version? Is there a way this could be recompiled to a 2014 version?

Is this issue Vray-related? Have you got this crash if Vray is not installed?

It doesn't seem to be Vray related (did I post this in the wrong forum?) But I have managed to find out, that it crashes the moment a berconnoise is put in a composite map. It's also with berconwood and such.

It would be better to inform berconnoise developers since they could provide a fix about the crash.
We could only fix issue related to our software.

I know but berconnoise isn't being updated anymore. Vlado provided us with a 2015 version that seems to work but I don't have a full 2015 and not all plugins are updated for 2015 yet so I don't see the point. Guess I'm screwed

Well, I did not realise it's an issue for 3ds Max 2014 too. I can recompile it, no problem - just need to find a bit of spare time for it.

              Best regards,
              Vlado

Hey Vlado, did you perhaps found some time to recompile yet? Thank you

Try the attached one and let me know if it works better.

I just tried it on the scene that was giving me trouble and also with new materials and it didn't crash, so far so good. Huge thank you! You saved me a lot of time.
