    How about this:

    Intel Core i7 4930K (3.4GHz)
    32GB DDR3 2TB SATA III 7200RPM + 240 SSD HDD
    Windows 8.1 64bit
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883258089

Maybe, the ram is too slow.

I'd be cautious buying game rigs for work In this one, no mention of motherboard? I couldn't see it anyway. I'd rather spec it out by parts, research each one then have some one (store) put it together for you.

The proc & card are fine, but I agree with Dmitry that you should buy them separately and pick a motherboard around $150-200 with decent reviews.

Maybe it's just me but I never thought it was worth it spec'ing higher clocked ram (ignoring OC'ing). Everything I've read leads me to think it might only give a couple of percentage points increase, if that. Anyone?

barely touches rendering, but I think it makes a difference with fluid simulation. no idea how much though.

Isn't the 5930K out now or just about to be released?

its meant to be released around now but there are no official dates. i'm really interested in the i7-5960X as it is 8-core, 5930k is still only 6-core

5930k will only be 6 core again. 5960X will be 8-core and worth waiting for. Along with DDR4. Suggest waiting!

I don't want to see anything about new processors now. Just ordered a new machine!

Heh. Well.. if it makes you feel any better, the 5960x is probably not going to overclock as well as the 3930k/4930k, so even though you'll gain 2 more cores it probably won't be an enormous boost.

Yes but extra 2 cores (4 Hyperthreaded) is NOT WORTH DOUBLE the cost

Well it won't be double the cost of the previous gen's top-end chip, the 39/49xxX-series. It will be roughly the same price that it was on launch. It's no more expensive than those were. Obviously now the price of 6-core chips has come down and the 5930k will come in less.

The eight core chip will only be available in the extreme edition which is about double the cost of those 4930s...in that case dual Xeons are a better option.

Well, perhaps. But it will depend upon a lot of factors. With Xeons you need ECC RAM and the price of the board goes up too. And of course you will probably be going for 2 x processors. Overall i think the 5960X will still work out well in terms of value for money over a similar budget Xeon setup. But we'll see once they hit the market.
