  • Global subdivs multiplier and LightCache

    Hi all

    In the Docs:
Global subdivs multiplier - this will multiply all subdivs values everywhere during rendering; you can use this to quickly increase/decrease sampling quality everywhere. This affects everything, except for the lightmap, photon map, caustics and aa subdivs. Everything else (dof, moblur, irradiance map, brute-force GI, area lights, area shadows, glossy reflections/refractions) is affected by this parameter.

Is that lightmap mention here, the same thing as lightcache?
In other words lightcache will NOT be affected by the global subdivs multiplier?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

    Hello,

AFAIK, it's a typo error - it's about LightCache indeed. So I'd say no, LC subdivs aren't affected by GSM.

    Regards.

      Hi,

That's correct, Global subdivs multiplier doesn't affect the Light cache subdivs.

AFAIK, it's a typo error - it's about LightCache indeed.
Light map is being generated by the light cache calculations, but this may lead to some confusion. So we have changed it to Light cache
Our documentation has been updated : http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3/DMC+sampler
      Thank you.
