Hello!

Is it technically possible to write a simple OSL texture that only shows shadows, just like the Matte Shadow Element but as a texture?
Preferrably just for the lights that are on an include/exclude list.
I haven't done anything with OSL yet but it seems to be avery helpful feature for these kind of tasks.

No, this is not possible with OSL. But luckily for you, I do have a similar texture already written and I can send it to you if you email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com - either as compiled plugin or as source code if you want to modify it.
