  • Reflection is lost when opening in PS CS6?

    Hi there,

basically i am rendering just a glass with reflection. Saving it as a PNG with Alpha. When opening it in PS, PS somehow premultiplies by alpha that it removes the reflection? Is there a way to go around this anyoing feature? Dont know if this question is even in the right section, well it was rendered with v-ray When using "removing Black Matting", some of the detail is coming back, but not enough.

    Cheers
    Ralf

What's happening is your glass is reflecting an alpha channel, and you've got it set to affect all channels so the reflection is picking some of it up and becoming slightly transparent.
png destroys image data in the alpha channel, it's not great to render images to. We use .exr - you might need to install the alpha plugin for photoshop though - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/...photoshop.html
