  • Multiple Materials

I have something strange. I have about 100 elements that are gray, with the same material name. When I create a new material, with the same name but with a different diffused color and drop it on a box, it is just replacing one of the colors. Why isn't it replacing all the materials with that name?

That is strange indeed. What 3DSMax version is that?
Are you able to reproduce the issue on a fresh new scene?
What happens if you use Change Material/Map Type on original mateiral instead assigning material with the same name?
