Circle Trim

I am having a tough time attaching and trimming a circle with a square. When I draw a square, which intersects a circle and attach them, the circle looses its shape.

just tried and it seems to work fine.. converted the circle to spline and attached the square, then trimmed.
maybe this belongs in off topic, as it's not really related to vray?

If you zoom in, does the circle, hold its original shape? You have to zoom in close. Yes, please move..

yes I see what you mean now.. they're close but not quite the same. there's a bit of a deformation where the two shapes meet.

Terrain with roads and stuff is impossible! I am using 3DS MAX 2015; I don't remember this in earlier versions.
