  • where´s the shadow?

    hello everyone,

i´m new in Vray and i´m making some render tests, and in this scene i have a direct light and 3 VRayLights for the windows. in the table there´s a sphere that seems to be flying, shouldn´t the sphere cast some soft shadows?

    thanks!

Could be that it's in the shadow of that sofa from the window. Also what are your VRayLight settings?

Set interpolate samples of irradiance map settings to 20 and it will be fine. If this is the resolution you calculated the irradiance map, you could also use -3,0 for min max in IR map settings. Remember that shadows of objects that are only lit by bounced light will always be difficult and take long time to compute. better use a vray light in the room towards the ceiling with low multiplier to fake some bounced light, you can use the shadows from the light that way instead of only the GI shadows.

also you could try your vray lights set to not store with iRR map and set the subdivs to around 20
