    hi
rpc is not included in the gi calculation process (i wish it was then maybe they would look better) so there is no need to try to convert it ... but i dont think you can anyway.

but hsv exponential mapping is trobeling me

but what do i do if i want to brighten an element that looks dark in a day light view iven after i rise the rpc self ilumination from 75 to 100 it looks dark i think that its doing that becouse of the hsv mapping cord that i gave to the dark 0.8 and to the other 1
its making the rpc very dark
what do i do to get them more light?

I heard from a plugin. I don't know if it's the color correct plugin wich is free. search on maxplugins.de

...or you could setup a light only for the rpc's in the scenes (exclude all other objects) set it to illumination, no shadow casting and try to brighten the rpc's that way.

            best regards

well i tried that but the light is not working for the rpc . i can only control them in there self ilumination pannel that is giving me only up to 100% brightness

                  color mapping

                  HSV exponential
                  dark multiplier 0.8
                  bright multiplier 1

                  its a external scane

well for external scenes i normally use Linear ... it may help with the rpc.
HSV is making the 100% brightness for the rpc look dull.

how can i know what is the best color mapping for external views?
i saw some works hear in the forum with the hsv exponential 0.8 and 1
                      and they just look grate
i realy never know what to choos so it will be best for the image

i think its a matter of experimenting and playing with settings so you know what is doing what ... its very easy to ask questions in here but theres nothing like making mistakes to learn

mabe you can give me a link for external view with light settings and linear color mapping?

yo can also control the rpc lighting from the output rollout of its bitmap parameters, you even have more control from there because you can tweak more than one parameter. Maybe that helps but i don't know if it is enough when working with hsv or exponential color mapping.
