Hi Guys, here's a little Xmas present for you I promised the other week.
Vray Render Mask Maker - It allows you to quickly draw render masks from within 3dsmax, using your last render or a viewport preview.
It's pretty easy to use and I've not got time to write out a tutorial at the moment, so have a play and let me know of any suggestions/bugs.
Basically, grab the viewport/last render, draw out rectangles, save the mask as an image file and it'll assign it to the render mask image. You can turn it on or off or clear it.
There's a groovy little thing where you can use a MultiMatte Render element to extract masks from the colours. And you can use the Expand Mask button to give yourself some bleed.
I've had a couple of guys testing it and it's saved the day a few times already!
For VRay 3.0 and up....
See scriptspot / my blog for the latest version.
Enjoy and Merry Xmas everyone!
