  • Is there a list of recommended drivers for VRayRT-GPU for consumer GPUs?

    See title.
I was wondering since I got a very old driver here because other ones gave me bluescreens for a reason I couldn't grasp.
I thought about trying to upgrade again and test if everything works now.
    Software:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
    3ds Max 2016 SP4
    V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

    Hardware:
    Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)
    64GB RAM

I think we had such at one point, but we deprecated it because all new drivers for a long time were working fine (not only that, but each newer version made the RT even faster).
The first ones that I know to break something are the drivers after 344.16 on Maxwell GPUs - they may have problems with scenes that have SSS or Light Cache. We are talking with nVidia about that.

      I got a GTX 780 on Win7.

Driver 320.18 is the latest one that works perfectly. All later ones including the most recent 347.52 gives me bluescreens after a short render time (I couldn't see what time exactly but seems at least 1hr)

I'm running 344.16 now that I have maxwell GTX,s but don't use any more recent drivers as they crash RT GPU.

Uhm I was actually talking about production renderings with VRay, not RT ^^

344.75 works well for 980 GTXs on win 8.1. The next two drivers after that causes serious problems, locking up two systems. I have not tried 347.52 that just came out. The other 347.xx drivers have been terrible for Max with the 980s.

I was looking for some answers as to why I keep getting crashes with vrayRT and 2x980's and maybe this is the answer. I've installed 347.52 and keep getting vrayRT crashes and driver failures where I have to end task for 3dsmax.

I'll try 344.75 see how that goes. I'd be interested to know if you have similar problems Joelaff if you decide to install the latest drivers (347.52).
