  • More Store with Irradiance Map questions...

So I've been experimenting some more with this feature and I've noticed something odd.
When rendering normally the scene looks exactly the same, but when you look at the Global Illumination render elements they end up being much brighter with the setting turned on.
None of the other elements are affected as far as I can tell though, which means that compositing the elements gives completely different results from the actually rendered image.
So my question is, is this a bug or an intended effect, and if so, how are you supposed to composit it?

Ah never mind I figured it out. The GI channel contains the info that would have been in the lighting channel.

That is correct, each light with activated Store with Irradiance Map option will be calculated by Irradiance Map and its contribution will be included in GI render element instead of Lighting one.
Nothing special is required in the compositing stage, the composition should match the Beauty Pass as Store With IM is disabled.

In addition, please have in mind that lights with activated Store With IM option will not be calculated if IM is not set as a first bounce engine.
