Along similar lines - I've just heard news that Vray/Chaosgroup has just been bought by Autodesk. Vray 4.0 will be included as standard in 3DS Max 2017!!!

I hear the spectral renderer will be able to render in almost any wavelength. We will have built in IR or even UV for things like insect POVs, etc.

This is truly a game changer! We have committed to moving to spectral rendering immediately.

I heard that UV rays are harmful though, and I can't see my renders if I'm wearing sunglasses that filter them.

To be totally honest, we've been asking for this for like 2-3 years now so it's a bit sad they are only just getting around to implementing it

Better late then never. I'd like to see though the differences and benefits.

Man! I have to admit I really did think some of you were serious. I edited a post about 20 times before just not posting it because I was afraid I was just uninformed. Haha!
