This is just an idea, but you know how you can create your own IES files? It could be cool to create your own vray sky models. May be with a standalone tool?

Vray sky works much faster than HDRI and they give the overall look to the image, like the latter.

Could you render the same image but without blocking the horizon and using a normal lens like 30 or 40mm? thanks.
