This message will appear if you have defined the environment variable VRAY_USE_SINGLE_RAY=1.

    Best regards,

      Thank you.
A warning message does not appear When I delete an environment variable (VRAY_USE_SINGLE_RAY = 1).

However, if delete the environment variable (VRAY_USE_SINGLE_RAY = 1) and check the force back face culling option, there is a problem.

force back face culling and Bunch Tracing is disabled...message
Is there a way to solve the two problems?

Or if there appear the message(bunch tracing is disabled...), can i ignore it and work?

I'm sorry ... I did not get English

ah, in that case just ignore the message. It will not have any effect on the rendering other than slowing it down a little.

          Hello,
I got this warning too. But in my environmentsettings is no entry like this "VRAY_USE_SINGLE_RAY = 1".
Is there any setting which can cause this warning message?

Getting this same error, and I also do not have that environment variable present.

I'm getting this too. What is an environment variable, and how do I access them? Is this a VRay setting, or a Max setting? If it's a VRay setting, why doesn't resetting VRay fix it?

                It's an operating system variable.

I am also getting this warning, however, I didn't make any system or V-Ray setting changes.

                    Hello,

This message is displayed only when there is the environment variable VRAY_USE_SINGLE_RAY set to something other than 0.
You can access the environment variables if you open the start menu, type environment like this:

then in the System properties open the "Environment variables" here:

and finally in the dialog there are two fields - User variables and System variables:

The VRAY_USE_SINGLE_RAY variable can be in either of the two.

Additionally if you are running Max through some script - it might set environment variables too.

                    Best regards,

                      Hello,

                      I have this message too.
And I checked the environment variable. There is none such as you write.

What does it mean "Additionally if you are running Max through some script - it might set environment variables too." ?

It can happen if you are starting Max with some third party tool or some custom script. If you are starting Max with the regular shortcut then it is not the case.

It is shown only if we get that variable somehow - you could contact our support and they can arrange a remote session to help finding the reason it appears.
