  • Want To Create Random Mat and Tex Variation on VrayProxy

    Hi everyone,

As in the title, I Want To Assign Different Mat on VrayProxy objects.
(create random material and texture variation through object and material ID- or any other way that I am not aware of)

Can't assign object ID or mat ID on Vray Proxy.

Anyone know a possible solution ?
    Thank you.

I doubt you didn't think of this, so it's possible this isn't what you're looking for, but what about Forest Color with Forestpack? http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/FOR...K/Forest+Color

If I understand you correctly, you can do it with VrayInstancer and VrayMultiSubTex map.

Thanks for the replies. My proxy object is not a tree or a forest but it is an architectural element which will be placed on specific coordinates (not random) but will be repeated many times.
So particle flow, vray instancer/particle flow, multiscatter, forrest pack is not an option for me.

I solved the problem. I was using a script to assign object ID on my proxy objects and this scripts probably didn't work properly yesterday. Today when I use a different script, I was able to assign random Object ID to my instanced proxy.

You could also make use of the render id which is naturally random.

Where is the RenderID parameter for a geometry located?
Is it hidden to the user and does only Vray read it?

I don't believe it is changeable by the user. It's generated at render time and is unique per node (up to some limit).
