  • HDRI maps with White lights but comprised of RGB layers??

Hello and thanks for your time,

Was wondering if there are some 32bit HDRI maps that are typical photography environment maps that offers bright white lights against a typical grey-black background but instead of just white color making up the lights, they are comprised of a sub layers of red, green, blue to make up the white light.

By goal or experiment is to use this map and let VRAY breaks up this lighting so that it in the reflection and refraction of the materials and you get some nuances of RGB lighting effects (basically rainbow colors coming through).

    any ideas?

im not sure if i understand you exactly, but all hdri maps are composed of red green and blue channels.. in fact, all colour image formats (ok yeah yeah i know..cmyk too)

it sounds like you are asking for dispersion (rainbow effect in transparent materials, an option in the vray material) and thin film effects ( discussed here http://forums.chaosgroup.com/showthr...ight=thin+film )

Using an appropriate image in the "bitmap aperture" slot of the camera may achieve the effect you're after.
