Actually, I can't beat the exterior presets. Exterior default eats through my exteriors in 20 minutes at 4k. This is with displacement, grass, and a ton of trees. I have tried every combination of V-Ray's Quick Settings and the fastest I can get for the same project is a couple hours. For interiors, not so much. I can't get a clean rendering, even with everything at its max in SR.

Hm, do you think you can get us a scene like that? Definitely want to make this go faster.

      Best regards,

I can; maybe when he updates it I'll post my current exterior.

          Hello !
thanks for discuss around SR . As i said to Glorybound by email, i do my best to make a release asap !
and yes, since 3 months i'm a bit overloaded because of a beautiful, superb, awesome little boy in the house.
So, sometimes i just can't answer within 24h.. trying to sleep somewhere

I'm polishing the 1.8 build (compatible with Vray 3.2 and max2016)
if i remember well nothing special, except that vray version check, wich was locked for anti hack and because i really don't know each time what will happens for the next round.
I prefer that SR crashes at starting instead of having unpredictible results.

i'm pretty happy of the incoming presets, bit faster than 1.7 (less AA, more DMC) and seems well balanced.
Still working on new version alert stuff, some gamma debug as well.

made at this moment for 1.8
          - ok for Vray 3.2
          - ok for max 2016
          - Srgb button now managed automatically
          - better glossy subdivs computation algorithm. Now it depends of relf glossiness value AND id ponderated with requested quality (medium, good...)
          - Debug : added some "animate off" commands to avoid some unwanted keyframes on light subdivs when using anim wizards
          - SR is now in good mode by default.
          - Proba lights is now OFF by default.
          - New "No GI" method ! i finally pushed my students for some complex exterior animation scenes (tons of luminous crystals and insects in a dark forest with everything animated...sic) to have a test ride with No GI, only dome+Vrayambientlight. (and far away spherelight as sun if needed). Dome alone gives lot of grain, but combined with Vrayambientlight gives pretty nice results : clean render (more contrasted) than Gi, flicker free of course, super fast rendering... so impressive that i decided to include this mode into SR. Thanks Chaosgroup for this VrayAmbientlight ! My students often prefer this result than the GI one for exterior anim rendering.

not sure for a setup tomorrow, i'll do my best. I'll skip some user requests at this stage to make a working version with 3.2 asap !

This 3.2 release had a big work in it i see.. especially on RT gpu !
Default values for DMC, AA, LC, irrmap are now closer to SolidRocks defaults settings. Far better starting point for Vray newbies imo compred to older Vray versions.

I'm now testing SR 1.8 on max 2016 with Vray 3.2.02.
Hope gamma stuff will not drive me crazy one more time...
note : i didn't added in this build the new Ligth leak param of ligthcache. i need to test it before

                    Hello !
I just compiled the 1.8.1 build (to be tested).
To follow ChaosGroup logic, SR is now in BruteForce/lightCache by default, in good mode (interior preset, the safer one).
If you want a test ride, please send me an email (jprevost@subburb.com)
note : Online activation will be ok within 48h. For instance, you'll need to activate by email.

                    Changelog : (since 1.7.2)
                    - Compatible with Vray 3.2
                    - Compatible with Max 2016
                    - Srgb button (Vray VFB) is now managed automatically
                    - NEW "NO GI" method ! Perfect for exterior dome(+sun)+VrayAmbientlight anim setup.
                    - Better glossy subdivs algorithm
                    - Optimized presets !
                    - Debug : avoid unwanted keyframes when using Animation Wizards
                    - Now proba lights is OFF by default
                    - SR is more compact at startup (can be changed by right clic)
                    - New special DOF/motion blur preset (based on interior preset, experimental)

                    Enjoy !
