  • How do I hide a light from appearing in glass reflections ?

I've made my lights 'invisible' yet they appear in reflections in glass ?

I know I can switch off Affect Specular and Affect Reflections, but I only want the lights to not appear in reflections in Glass windows, not not appearing in the reflections for the entire scene.

I have a feeling you may need to create duplicates of each light and then exclude and include the object or set of objects in question. You should then be able to define what affects what in terms of diffuse, reflections etc

I just excluded the glass from the Illumination and that did the trick

            Yeah, that works too

V-Ray for Maya allows lights to be used with the V-Ray trace sets too, but in 3ds Max, the include/exclude lists only show geometry...

            Best regards,
            Vlado

But that's just because Max only allows you to list geometry in an include/exclude dialog. You can manually add lights to the lists using maxscript, or as I'm doing, rebuild the include/exclude UI to allow for this.
