Displacement Problem!~

Hi all...
Get a serious displacement problem here. When I ticked Geometry>displacement in vary my hard disk is incessantly reading data.The renering time is getting so long. After turn off displacement it's working fine. I just adopted displacement to a sofa. Just wondering how can I figure it out~

Adjust the subdivision setting in the Vray displacement modifier. Keep in minde that each face gets subdivided this many times. How detailed is your displaced geometry right from the start?
Disable caching in the modifier. This slows things down but reduces memory consumption. Don´t forget to turn displacement in the Max´rendersettings of you you get double displacement.
