  • will Irr. map save if I cancel the rendering? Help ASAP pls

Hi everyone! I just realized I started this rendering without checking the "don't raytrace the image" button (or whatever it's called). I meant to check it, then use the saved Irr. map to render stripes over several computers, for the raytracing will take 10 hours on a single machine. My question is if I cancel the rendering once the irr. map is done rendering, will it still save the Irr map to disk??

    Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the iradiance map saves as soon as its computed. So if you cancel while the image is rendering you should be ok. Just to be safe you may want to test it on a small scene. I don't want to be the cause of you losing hours of irradiance calculation

wow! that was fast matt! thanks! Actually, as soon as I hit the submit button, I said, "well, stupid, why don't you just do a test yourself!?!"

So, yes, you are correct. It did save the map. Always good to get confirmation from others though!

      Thanks!
