  • dummy plugs needed for RT?

ive just crammed a second gpu (titan x) in my workstation. waiting for some last bits to connect up the watercooling then im good to go.

are dummy plugs still needed on a sercond gpu if its not got a monitor plugged in? ive seen the guides with a dvi-vga adapter and 3 resistors, but there are a few other ports that couple be used (hdmi, displayport)

be nice if i didnt need this hack!

It shouldn't be needed anymore. Update to the latest drivers and try to use it (restart might be needed after drivers install).
If it doesn't work, set it to TCC mode (it works for Titan X now, too. Here is how - http://http.developer.nvidia.com/Par...te_Cluster.htm) and it will work for sure.

I've got a node with 4 Titan X and no plugs are used and it's working great. I think the plugs where a hack from few years back as it's been at least 2 years I run multi GPU node without any plugs

By the way, looks awesome that TCC thing, didn't knew that!
        Thanks!

I'll keep that in mind if I need it one day.
