You should enable the Unclamped color G-Buffer channel to get the full range. The latest public version of VRay dosn't save HDRIs but you can use the Splutterfish HDRI Loader for this.

    Hope it helps

You can alos use EXR... just as good and better lossless compression.

        not work

        bad bad

when i using the Unclamped color in G-bufer - button is blue, and i save the images as hdr befor the final render result, is the image only ldr!?

i using the HDRshop. I have easy scene. In this scene is two lights and plane. First lights has mult. 1000 and second lights has 10 mult.
in HDR shop is the image with top color 1. First lights and second lights has color 1??? this is not high dinamics range, its ldr.

        i have once more guestion
        what si the color:#FFA34F"?

Ouuu. Why render doesn't work with color mapping-exponential or hsv exponential? Render to hdr works only with linear multiply. I want to render interier, but with linear multiply is exposure bad. I normaly use in this scene exponential mapping. What can i do?

Hmm, I'm not surprised that that color mapping only works in ldr , I'm not too experienced with hdri's but would it work to composite a normal color mapped render into the mid exposure of the hdri?

Anyways thanks for sharing your collection of hdri's they are a main staple in my renders
