    Hi all,
    out of curiosity, why does this render element render in color???

    The shadow element can be used to effectively remove the shadows from a certain object for an example and it will be colored depending on the light source/s setup.
    Lighting pass + Shadow pass > Lighting without shadows.

      so for the classical shadow layer as one would expect from its name i shoudl use GI element?

        What's a classic shadow layer? There is the VRayMatteShadow element, but I don't know if that's what you are looking for.

          right, i think i am not making myself clear at all but thant might be it.
          If i want to isolate shadows completely i render VrayMatteShadow element.

          Sorry guys i saw somewhere on the net a composition from vray elements, one of which was called shadow element and it was greyscale......and i havent used elements for recomposition for a while now so i came to believe that the Shadows element istn meant to be colored
          Anyway, thanks for clearing out!
