  • Terrible geometry on Revit imports

Why am I getting such jacked up geometry on my Revit import models?
I'm in max 2016 using Revit link import. Trying every import option. Doesn't seem to make a difference on the quality of the geometry

Yep, that's what you'll get when you import a Revit model.

And if that doesn't work go for Revit>SketchUp>MAX. I don't even try importing direct from Revit anymore, nightmare!

Of course it is. It's almost a thousand years old.

                  Haha LOL.

Concerning your problem. I don't go to MAX anymore either without cleaning it up in SketchUp first. Then going to MAX. Still crappy but a lot less.

                    The best way is Revit>CAD>LinkImport>Max

if you don't go the dwg route ( I do....i brings in layers as well!) I use this wonderful script to clean up those pesky edges http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/sc...tly-auto-edges

what 'edges' does this script refer to? The ones that are created by the weird tri topology that CAD models inevitably import as? (like we see in the OP's attachment)
