  • camera clipping render times

    well it's just occurred to me that using clipping camera planes increases the render times dramatically, when used with IR maps.

    I've rendered the same file with both ways, adjusting the fov to cover almost the same boundries and render times were almost %250 more when using clipping planes.

    Has anyone got any ideas about how to prevent it, because it's very useful when rendering small spaces.

    I feel it has something to do with the nature of IR map calculation.

    I am also finding this using LC and Irmap. Is there a faster workaround?

      Vray still has to consider the clipped geometry...

        You could maybe try a big ol' slice plane.
