I have set up three exr renderpass composites one in autodesk composite, one in fusion and one in blender. I don't know if I some how have done it wrong but my way to make it work was to set the light /diffuse to Darken and the GI/diffuse to Darken instead of Multiply. I added GI and lighting together. I have set the reflections and refractions to ADD.
I'm attaching two screen grabs from Composite with a comparison tool but they are identical to fusion and blender. The out put from Vray is version 2.5 raw image.
So my question is why does my way work and the normal way not? what have I done wrong? is this enough info or do you need more to answer?

    thanks

    Hi,

I see that you are working with Raw elements. Can you try to derive them by dividing the main element. For an example
    Lighting/Diffuse = Raw Lighting
    GI/Diffuse = Raw GI
Then check the full composition again.

Do you have any reflections on the walls ? and Reflection set to affect "all channels" ?
Can you post a screenshot of the entire composition ?

I'm attaching the entire comp. as I have set right now. The wall are just a diffuse color set to color only. all of the material channels are set to color only.

      thanks

I see what I did. I added the multiply (which is for rawgi and rawlights) when I didn't need to.

But I'm still back where I started when I was fooling with the raw files. If you look at the second attachment I have the GIraw and GIlights multiplied with diffuse then added together. rawreflection multiplied with reflection filter, rawrefraction multiplied with refractionfilter and then both added (effect channel for both the reflecting ball and the glass ball set to color and alpha) I am unclear what to do to get rid of that fringe.

the divide turns the green into yellow and makes the fringe go from black to white but it's still there (I did swap out the RawGI and RawLights to GI and lights) I attached the result of gi/diffuse+lighting/diffuse clearly this is wrong.

        thanks

You got it working when you are using the main elements like Lighting and GI, right?
In order to get the same result when using RAW passes and remove the fringe effect, you have to derive the RAW GI and RAW Lighting from the corresponding main render element. This is an issue only in the V-Ray 2.x builds.

So remove the Raw GI and Ligting from your composition and create them by:
          Lighting/Diffuse = Raw Lighting
          GI/Diffuse = Raw GI

I need some kind of explanation to what you mean by divide I think. my understanding of divide is in the same math operator that multiply is in and I get a result of
            gi/diffuse=rawgi
            lighting/diffuse=rawlighting
            rawlighting+rawgi= ???

            Thanks

The network in Combustion should look like this:

It's an example for the lighting element only, the same approach can be used to derive the raw GI element and then multiply it by the Diffuse filter to get the GI again.

Let me know if you still have any troubles to comp these files.
