  • VrayProxy, maxscript info on range and animation state

    Hi there,
I have a bunch of Vray proxies and I want to read out info if the proxy is animated and if so, how long the animation range is. Is there an interface or some property I can use with maxscript? I didn't find anything here http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3/MaxScript so I thought I might just ask

Nope, we don't have anything right now. Can you explain in a bit more detail why do you need it?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Bummer..
Well, having info about ranges can be useful for plenty of reasons, different states for character animation for example - would be easier if I could just use the info from the proxy itself instead of having to note it somewhere.
In this case however I'm more interested in converting proxies from and into other formats, like Corona for example.

Well, I don't have a particular incentive to help you with that, do I

With that said, the format of the .vrmesh files is described in detail in the V-Ray SDK docs when you install V-Ray; you can read that information from there.

Right, and I don't expect you to do so - it's completely understandable
I'm a customer for both Vray and Corona and I'm using both in production (+ doing the converter stuff for fun), so I have a personal interest to use my assets in both render engines.
