  • Question about Vray Glare

A question for clarification... Vray glare can only be generated from a light source and not from a light material?

  • #2
Not really, Travis. You can have glare coming from anything that is supposed to cause glare, be it a light mtl or even some really reflective piece of geometry. As a matter of fact, my latest piece of work has a dozen spots that use light mtl to actually light the scene and generate glare.

A vray light and a vray light material are usually 1:1 in terms of producing glare. Though using a fairly intense vray light material may produce more fireflies that you want it to, versus a light of the same intensity (though this may be scene and viewing angle dependent).
