  • networking renderfarm throughput

    hey guys and gals

i was wondering how many of you use 10/100/1000 gigabit networks and is this a necessary piece of equip for a 10 piece renderfarm.....i am especially interested in throughput bottlenecks with distributed rendering buckets.

did you start with 10/100 and not find it suitable for 3d(maps,instructions,etc.) and then upgrade, or did u go gigabit first?

I work with 10/100. Works fine for me. Average file sizes are about 30 meg for images and about 20 meg for max files. I have 2 servers, 4 workstations and 3 netrender slaves in the network.

i am getting random black buckets with my dr ..... it seems totally random and not associated with any particular node/bucket. i have a suspicion it may be a network bottleneck.

has any one gotten this issue (not a uncpath issue) with dr going and comming.????
