Is it possible to use Backburner to save to VFB, so that when BB is finished I can return to rendering inside of 3DS Max, say, to region-render a part of that BB'd image ?

If so, what settings must I make sure I check ?

You can load images in the VFB, won't that do the job? Just load the image rendered by backburner.

        Best regards

          That's perfect

          Thanks Vlado.

Would that have still worked if I'd have saved the image file as something other than a vrimg ? (I was concerned that my region render would have started off as a black image and just my region rendered).

Yes, the VFB can load most formats (png, exr, jpg, bmp, tga and some others).

            Best regards,
            Vlado

Glad I see I'm not the only one
It's in my top 5 default setting I'm changing right away as soon as I load Vray for at least the past 8 years.
