  • nVidia driver version for 3dsmax/Vray

    Hi,

I know 3dsmax is very sensitive stability wise to nvidia driver version.
    Actually on max2014 sp3, win7 x64, vray 3.20.02 with nvidia 335.23
    All stable, works great.

We will soon update to some GTX970 and 335 doesn't support 900series.

So, is it safe to install nvidia 358.87 (last whql) ? Or should I stay with the vray RT recommended 350.12 ?

    Thanks
    Kib

You will need 3.20.03. It works fine with all latest drivers.

I got bluescreens regularly when rendering for a little longer (always over night) while using 3.20.00 - .02; didn't try with .03 yet.
So the latest driver at this moment is confirmed to work flawlessly with .03? I'm not only talking about RT GPU but VRay in general.
      Software:
      Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
      3ds Max 2016 SP4
      V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

      Hardware:
      Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)
      64GB RAM

We had no issues with the latest drivers both 3.20.03 and 3.30.01.
