And indeed, i tested it, and it's fixed in behavior, you can now safely ignore my previous post, if you have access to the nightlies (otherwise, you can consider that a valid workaround, until you have access to a fixed version).
A Contact sheet is attached to show the results: noise is actually lower for the same settings, with baked colormapping, and soft clipping (Reinhard with burn at 0), for a lower rendertime (as the highlights are a lot more muted, requiring less work overall).
