    Maby this is a stupid question but
    wouldn´t it be possible to make some kind of texture map or a modifier (base on vertexcolor) witch indicates the bend direction map in order to make it some kind of fake dynamic?
    It wouldn't collide but with a min (could be the given color) bend amount and something like a max difference from the given color it wouldn't go under the surface.
    And i think this would be probably enough for short fur and hair.

    I think it should be even possible to do this with the MCG.
    But it would be nessesary to blend the amounts of some (at least the last) frames together to make it smooth.
    I dont think that the MCG can do this because (correct me if im wrong) you can´t force it to cach all the frames form reference to current like the flex modifier does.
    So it wouldn´t work with nework rendering.

    Is vertexcolor something Point Cache stores?
