LowRes vs HighRes Noise - SP3 BETA

Hi all

I'm mostly using the defaults with the BETA with noise at 0.02 for a still. If the noise is slightly obvious at 2K, how would it be with same settings at 5K?
Will it be LESS obvious or MORE obvious?

The noise itself will stay exactly the same.

but, you will have a higher resolution image, so the apparent noise will be finer, so less noticeable.

btw do you mean 0.002, or 0.02?


0.02 id say wasnt low enough for an acceptable final image, whereas 0.002 would be overkill in my book.

i generally settle around 0.005 for final stuff. sometimes higher if it looks ok, but sometimes lower if im doing animation with tons of detailed distant geometry.
