  • Render to Texture ?

I want to use the Render to Texture feature.

Goal: Rendering my VrayExtraTex Map with an AO Pass that gives me the AO Pass layed out to my UVWs.
I want to use that render as a texture map for edges.

Here a short video explaining the problem:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kjm5...ature=youtu.be

    Problem:
I can't select the VrayExtraTex within the Render to Texture options.

So how to do that ?
How to get my AO Pass as a baked texture map ?
And YES, using Vray and not any other render engine.

Glad to see you back and more regular on the Max VRay forum again. I still remember your "RWF". Missed you over the last few years. Were you in Maya land?
        Kind Regards,

Hi Bernhard, hope things are well for you.

When I need to bake AO's with Render to Texture, I put the vray dirt into a VrayLightMtl and bake out the complete map. Works every time. Since the extra tex doesn't bake in lighting info anyways (It's basically a self illuminated pass), this approach works.

Another option is sometimes I'll put it in my self illuminated slot instead and just tick it off when I'm not using it. If you put it there and it's on (ticked) the self illumination pass should render it just fine.
