  • RAM Limits WS vs Slave

    Hi all

In terms of ram, if my main WS has 32GB and I set my dynamic ram to 28GB, will my slaves participate if they only have 16GB?

Also, same scenario, but what if I check the RAM usage on my main pc and during render it's using 24GB, will the slaves with the 16GB manage by just loading unloading etc?
    (no discplacement, just general rendering)
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

I believe you can enter -2000 in the ram field and it will use whatever ram of the slave -2000 mb specified.

I believe we have already discussed that matter into the following thread:

Yes they will participate for sure but depending on the memory usage during the rendering they might crash or their performance might drop a lot because of constant memory swapping.

Dynamical memory Loading/Unloading is applicable only for the dynamic geometries like displacement, proxies etc.
Scenes without dynamic geometries will not benefit from that feature and they will most likely to crash once memory is filled up.

I always use zero and I'm assuming that all the computers take the maximum ram possible
