  • I want to create a texture out of geometry (a brick wall). What's the simplest way?

    Hi there,

    I'm not a newbie.

I'm not sure what would be the best way to render a texture out of geometry (a brick wall done with RayFire for example), without using render-to-texture.

Would you say the best would be to use a vraylightmtl on the front/side viewport??

It's a simple question but hard to find the answer on google ironically.
    Any ideas will be appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Guido.

To clarify, I'm not intending to bake a texture, or to get a texture from a complex object.
Simply render a frontal orthographic viewport in order to get the texture/image on the VFB, with no shading, shadows nor lights.
    Guido.

light it however you want and use the vray render elements - raw diffuse filter. you can also add normals/zdepth for a bump map if you like.
