with a standard max light, i can choose shadowmap as the shadow type, then crank up the size and reduce the bias, and the quality of the viewport shadow increases to match.
with the vraysun and/or vrayshadow, i have no such control, and the viewport shadow looks like crap.
obviously i dont wish to use shadowmapped standard lights in my scene..
ive tried changing the "maxshadowmapsize" in the nitrous viewport manager via maxscript, but this seems to be an upper limit, rather than a setting used by the lights.
any way to improve the shadow quality? im on max 2014.
