  • Can I Save the Render Elements List

    Hi

I have my render elements setup the way I need them but, is it possible to save the list of render elements so that I can import them into another scene ?

    Thanks

I have just found it, apologies - please feel free to delete this post.

To import the render elements, simply use the Merge button and navigate to another max file with the elements that you want.

      Exactly.
On a side note, have you ever thought about making a custom maxstart.max file, so that everything you regularly need is already set up ? that includes nearly everything from RenderElements to scene layers, render settings or whatever

        Hi Nicolas

That sounds like a good idea but how do you do it ?

          Hello,

          I think there's a good summary here.
Moreover, you can easily save maxstart.max file on a shared folder somewhere on your network, thus allowing every user around you to load it as well ... this way, everyone in a team can start working in the same environment ! that only means you'll have to change the path to maxstart.max accordingly.

To give you a more precise idea, here is what we have in our maxstart: a camera, a domelight, main scene layers created and named, Render Elements we usually need, VRay settings for quick preview ... things like that.

I hope this will help you
